The Russian Giants almost defy both nature and gravity standing up to 10 feet tall with heads reaching 32 inches in diameter and you may not know this, but the sunflowers popularity as a cultivated flower was pretty much down to Peter the Great.
I drew these from one that we had grown in our garden and then retraced it on the computer. There is something about the strength of the leaves and their ability to follow the sun that I find fascinating.
